Join UVM Extension's Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Maple Wind Farm for a workshop with Jean Bonhotal, Director of the Cornell Waste Management Institute.

Learn how to improve on-farm mortality management through composting to create better compost product, secure fertility, protect water quality, reduce fly pests, and reduce predation and nuisance wildlife issues.

Topics include:

• Best management practices for mortality compost piles
• Benefits of lactobacillus in the composting process
• Practical tips and answers to your composting questions

If you are a large dairy or a small sheep farm this workshop is for YOU. Also we will have special information for those who do on-farm slaughter and processing for ruminants and poultry.
